All the Leos from Leo Club of KDU PJ met at Wangsa Maju LRT Station. They then took a taxi to Zoo Negara. The Leos then gathered at the guard house, where they were given instructions, divided into groups and task assignments.
The Leos were assigned to four different sections. The 1st group, comprising of Leo Joshua Tan Lien Hoe and Leo Aisha Salma Begum were sent to the main kitchen of the Zoo. Their first task was to chop fruits and vegetables for the animals. These included; papayas, lettuce and bananas. After that, they were told to clean up the kitchen. Then they were on a lorry around the zoo to deliver the prepared food to their respective sections. Lastly, they emptied a truck load of bread into the freezing room.
The 2nd group consisted of Leo Gan Jin Ni and Leo Nurfarhana Azmi. They were sent to the Birds house. Here they were assigned to the kitchen section in which they were responsible in preparing all the food for the birds. This included chopping the vegetables and meat and peeling fruits. After that, they were made responsible to clean up the equipments and cages of the birds.
The 3rd group, comprised of Leo Li Wern and Leo Siong Hoi, were assigned to the Reptile section. These tasks included cleaning the cages and animal enclosure, feeding the animals and disposing of waste.
The 4th group included Leo Lim Kee Cyn and Leo Benny Neoh. They were sent to bear enclosure where they were responsible in cleaning up the cages and feeding the bears food which was prepared earlier. This food consisted of soup and vegetables.
The Leos directly helped the zoo keepers by carrying out their usual tasks. This ultimately helped the animals. During this time, the Leos also entertained and educated the visitors by explaining certain traits about the animals and making jokes.
At 10 am, the Leos had a half an hour break. During this time, they went around the zoo to see other animals and have some refreshments. After that, the Leos resumed their duties until 1pm. Soon after, all the Leos proceeded to the Wild Restaurant to have lunch before heading back to their respective sections to continue their duties until 4 pm.

The tasks assigned to the Leos were completed successfully because they worked together. The Leos were cheerful and enthusiastic. All the Leos did various tasks, so that it would be more interesting. Throughout the entire process, the Leos did not forget their objective and whole-heartedly went about their activities.
This activity was carried out because of our responsibility to the environment and the animals. It was important to extend a helping hand to nature as well. The Leos wanted to recognize, understand and in small ways, relieve the zoo keepers of their work. Most importantly, it was to learn and appreciate the wildlife. On the whole, it was a great learning experience!

I've come to believe that each of us has a personal calling that's as unique as a fingerprint - and that the best way to succeed is to discover what you love and then find a way to offer it to others in the form of service, working hard, and also allowing the energy of the universe to lead you.
